Tomorrow, the Atia’s Legacy playtest, which has been long anticipated, will finally open its doors to a limited group of Axie Infinity community members. This will be their first time experiencing Sky Mavis’ next big title. This first look at the new RPG-style that features squad-based combat and exploration, blending Axie lore, will be from September 25 to October 2, 2025.

Requirements to Join
The game does not allow people who want to be part of Atia’s Legacy to enter straight away. The developers limited the initial closed alpha to 1,000 participants. Players needed to meet certain criteria to be eligible to participate in this test:
- Invitation only: An official invite and an access code sent via email are the only ways to get in.
- Mobile device: Either an Android phone that can sideload the APK or an iOS device with TestFlight installed.
- Axie account: Connect a verified Axie Infinity account to the email address you provided during registration.
- Community presence: The team selected the majority of testers from the most active community members who participate in the guild and have been long-time holders.
- Mystic Axies (optional): The only way to get some additional playable characters is if you own a Mystic Axie NFT; however, it is not a requirement to take part in the game.

What Players Can Expect
The play testers will be able to wander through a central town and its nearby wilderness, create Axie squads, and fight their way through scenarios, of which some consist of smaller enemies and others of bosses. They can mine gold, purchase something from the in-game shop, and also experiment with different character builds. Most importantly, those who have a Mystic NFT will be able to use it as a playable character, which is one of the very few blockchain-connected features at this stage.
On the other hand, the advancement achieved during the test is temporary. The team will remove the characters, in-game currency, and achievements when the playtest finishes. They also keep the bigger Web3 universe, including exchange, staking, and token integration, turned off until later stages.
Why It Matters
The playtest is not just a sneak peek but a critical step in Atia’s Legacy’s development. Sky Mavis seeks player feedback on controls, balance, and overall experience and uses these early insights to refine the game ahead of its global release, projected for 2026. For the Axie community, this marks the first real look at how the franchise is evolving beyond its original play-to-earn model.

Tips for Participants
Testers can enjoy the experience of the trial to the fullest extent, but they need to prepare before the trial starts:
- Make sure you receive the access code via email and have it on hand.
- Sky Mavis recommends installing the client a day before the launch to avoid any issues on launch day.
- Provide a detailed description of a bug and your general mood to the official community via the channels.
- Go off and have fun. Nothing will be saved in the system after October 2nd.
Tips for Non-Participants
Although you were not selected, you can still make the most of your time by:
- Opting to attend a live gameplay session or a recorded one made by a playtester might give you a better understanding of the game feel and flow.
- Carefully examining the various strategies and training-like lineups so you can be more equipped once the game is accessible for an increasing number of players.
- Encourage community members to attend forums, groups, and discussions where the team closely monitors testers’ reports on balance, mechanics, and early bugs.
- Begin by learning the basics of Axie and later enjoy how Atia’s Legacy playfully overrides the universe.
By observing the alpha from the outside, future players can gain valuable insights that will help them hit the ground running once the game becomes widely available.
With only a small slice of the community gaining access tomorrow, Axie veterans and the broader GameFi world will closely watch Atia’s Legacy playtest. It represents an important milestone for Sky Mavis as it works to expand its ecosystem and prove that the Axie universe has more stories to tell.
