YGG Play Grows Publishing Arm with Proof of Play

YGG x Proof of Play

YGG Play announced a joint venture with Proof of Play, a studio that worked on Pirate Nation. This alliance is intended to broaden the publishing network of YGG Play and deepen its influence in the Web3 gaming sector.

YGG Play is making this step while still developing as a Web3 game publisher. Their emphasis is on easy, community-engaged games, rather than complicated on-chain games.

What Is Proof of Play

Proof of Play is a game studio best known for Pirate Nation, one of the first fully on-chain games. The project gained attention for its technical ambition but was later shut down due to high maintenance costs.

The team later rebuilt its approach under Proof of Play Arcade, a hybrid platform focused on faster, lighter gameplay. Games here use credits instead of full on-chain operations. This makes it easier for players to join and reduces blockchain costs.

Collaboration Details

Under the partnership, Proof of Play will become a third-party publishing partner under YGG Play. This means YGG Play will now help publish and support Proof of Play titles within its growing ecosystem.

The partnership will let both teams work closely on community support, marketing, and scaling while keeping their creative independence. This is not the first time the two have worked together. YGG Play previously supported early testing for Pirate Nation.

What the Partnership Means for YGG Play

Through collaboration, YGG Play is able to extend its lineup of games with developers who have a good reputation and ecosystems that are already established. The triumph of Proof of Play Arcade is just one example that hybrid models can not only attract players but also be financially viable at the same time.

Besides that, YGG Play can consider it as another option to improve its publishing model and strengthen its back-end system. The pact is consistent with YGG Play’s final mission of making it easier for developers and communities to get connected via a single publishing system.

YGG Play Launchpad

This news is prior to the debut of the YGG Play Launchpad, scheduled for October 15, 2025. The platform will provide essential services for the smooth launch of Web3 games through YGG marketing, community, and infrastructure support.

Proof of Play will be one of the first partners to interact with this new system. Also, it will be able to utilize the Launchpad facilities in the earliest stage for publishing, discovery, and token-related launches that run through the YGG network.

Conclusion

The alliance between YGG Play and Proof of Play is indicative of another major change in collaboration within Web3 gaming. The focus is on moving to structured publishing and shared infrastructure rather than the brief announcement of isolated game launches.

While its impact is still early to judge, the collaboration reflects both groups’ interest in building more stable, accessible models for Web3 gaming.
